Billeting Information for Potential Host Families Each season the Boston Warrior Tier 1 Hockey Club recruits talented players from all over the world. In order to take advantage of this hockey opportunity the players need host families who are willing to share their homes with these terrific student athletes.
Our Billet Family Program plays a major role in our team's success both on and off the ice. It takes special people to open their homes and hearts to our players and we take the utmost care to ensure our players are placed in environments that are conducive to care, understanding and safety.
Billet Family Responsibilities 1. Provide a socially supportive family atmosphere. 2. Provide access to a desk for homework.
3. Provide occasional transportation for the player if team-mates cannot pick them up. 5. Provide players with their own room if possible. In the event where a player has to share a room, it will be with another team-mate and not any other household member. 6. Report any player that breaks curfew. 7. Players are not permitted to leave the city without permission from the Coach/General Manager 8. Players must attend all classes, high school, including after away games. All players must notify the Coach or GM if they will be late or absent. Players should give billets a timetable of their classes. 9. Players who are not in school must find a part time job and may be required to attend morning work outs. 10. Billet families must sign a Billet AGREEMENT. 11. Report any incidents involving player safety, security or well being to the Billet Coordinator. 12. Report any incidents involving conduct unbecoming of a billet player to the Head Coach or GM. 13. Report any concerns they have with the player to the Billet Coordinator. 14. Report any positive input to the Billet Coordinator. (IE. player helped with their son's hockey practice, etc.) 15. Ensure that underage players are not given access to alcoholic beverages.
1. CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF 2. Advise your Billet family if you are going to be out late. 3. Project a positive image of yourself and your Team. 4. Ask permission of your Billet Family if you plan to have visitors in their home. 5. NO "sleepovers”; friends and girlfriends are expected to leave at curfew. 6. Ensure you have a ride to and from practice and games. It’s important to plan ahead so as not to inconvenience your Billet family. 7. Sign a Billet Contract. 8. Be reasonable with your appetite. 9. Be respectful with laundry and use of utilities. 10. Players will not consume drugs or alcohol in their billets home. Use of these substances is grounds for immediate expulsion from the program. 11. Billeted Players will report any issues of concern with their Billet Family to the GM, Coach or Billet Coordinator. 12. Players will advise their Billet Families of their Team practice and game schedule 13.Players will arrange long distance phone calls with your Billet Family, as payment will be your responsibility. |
